Based in Akersloot, The Netherlands (with a future office relocation to or near Amsterdam), you will have the opportunity to work with renowned companies such as Shell, BP, Petronas, and local geothermal firms. Collaborate closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to brainstorm and develop groundbreaking drilling solutions.

What are the primary responsibilities of the R&D department?

  • Translate drilling engineering challenges into high-performance drilling products, addressing the unique needs of our customers.
  • Oversee and optimize the global manufacturing and repair processes of our drilling tools, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Design new products and modify existing ones, creating detailed drawings to guide the manufacturing process.
  • Utilize CFD and FEA techniques to conduct a comprehensive analysis of both new and existing products, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Take end responsibility for legal matters related to all products, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Work on various projects, including conducting tool experiments, analyzing tool performance, and collaborating with customers to design innovative tools.

What type of profile are we looking for?

  • Mechanical engineering degree at university (bachelor or master) level.
  • Multiple years of experience in different technical roles.
  • Knowledge in Non-Linear FEA analysis, CFD analysis, Inventor/Ansys Software, and skilled in 3D CAD software.
  • Determining component specifications (material, hardness, treatment).
  • Coordinates production and controls quality documents.
  • Comfortable working with a patent lawyer to research and write patents.
  • R&D skills and a creative technical view.
  • Creative and capable of thinking out of the box.
  • Team player that is also able to work autonomously.
  • Self-motivated, positive, and confident personality.
  • Comfortable working in a small and dynamic team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
